Making the invisible, visible, Marlys Powell mixes imagination, color, and movement to create intriguing works of art. Inspired by the red rock pinnacles in her own backyard, as well as extensive globetrotting, her oil paintings draw the viewer into new and mysterious abstract environments. Some of her works are calm and spiritual, others wild and dynamic. It all depends upon where the artist chose to venture during the creative process.?
The artist's paintings are included in numerous corporate and private collections, both nationally and internationally. In 1999, Marlys completed a major public mural for the city of Sedona.?
